GTA 6 Preload Guide: Pre-Download Starts November 12

Rockstar has confirmed that players who pre-order Grand Theft Auto VI digitally can begin pre-loading the game on November 12, 2026 — seven days before the November 19 launch.

Pre-loading lets you download the game files in advance, so you can play the moment the game unlocks on launch day instead of waiting on a large download.

Pre-loading applies to digital pre-orders on the PlayStation Store and Xbox/Microsoft Store. Physical buyers receive a “code-in-a-box” to redeem digitally, as the box does not include a disc.

Rockstar has not yet confirmed the exact download size — we'll update this guide once it does. Clear plenty of free storage on your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S ahead of time.
