In mid-September 2022, more than 90 clips of in-development GTA 6 footage leaked online in one of the biggest breaches in gaming history. Rockstar confirmed a network intrusion had occurred.
The footage came from an early build and showed rough, work-in-progress gameplay — not final visuals, missions or features.
Much of the feature speculation that still circulates today traces back to this leak. Because it was pre-release development material, none of it should be treated as confirmed for the finished game.
Rockstar has stayed silent on the leak's contents, and the studio's official trailers remain the only reliable source.
